I am guilty of taking plastic bags everytime I grocery shop. Most of the time, it is because I don’t remember to bring my reusable bags with me. They are too big to fit into a handbag and I do my shopping after work.
However, I need fret no longer with my recent purchase of Envirosax reusable grocery bags.

These bags are so light and best of all, roll up into a very compact roll that fits right in your handbag, so you can’t even tell its there! Its also quite large and can fit quite a lot. It also fits up to 20kg so that’s 2 bags of rice! The other nice thing is that they come in loads of colourful designs to suit everyone’s taste.
Now, I have no more reason to forget my reusable grocery bags! Envirosax can be purchased for RM26 from Tiny Tapir.
It looks like Marc Jacobs isn’t stopping at the awful designs he has come up with for Louis Vuitton’s Summer 2008 collection. He’s come up with a really horrendous bag (in my opinion) in this one too!
This is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Party Girl Starburst Tote. Here are the specifications:-
Smoked-vinyl tote with stud and faceted-jewel detail at front and patent trim throughout. Adjustable patent-leather straps.
15″H x 15″L.
7″ strap drop.
The “faceted-jewel detail” at the front look like holes to me. In fact, it looks like you could take a sheet of stiff plastic, hammer some holes in it and turn it into a bag that sells for US$198.
Yes, MJ it IS a plastic bag!

I previously wrote that I’d finally managed to see the Coach Madeline bag in person. I was very excited then because I thought I liked the shape of it. I’ve since tried it on a few more times at the Coach store, and I’m afraid I’ve decided that I don’t quite like the Madeline Tote after all.
My reasons for disliking the Madeline are:-
- The leather version is stiff. I know its meant to be stiff so it holds its shape. However, I have experience with stiff leather bags and it is prone to creasing if you aren’t careful.
- The bag doesn’t rest properly against the body. For some reason, it sticks out quite stiffly when I carry it on my shoulder. It doesn’t feel very comfortable when I’m carrying it either (and that’s without stuffing it full of my rubbish!)
- The scarf. I know its the design but no, its just not for me.
- Its too similar to the Hamptons tote. Hanging a scarf from the bag doesn’t make it a new design.
- It feels too big on my frame. I’m 5′3″ and its just a little bit too big so it makes me look a little overwhelmed. This is accentuated by the fact that its a stiff design not a slouchy one.
So yes, I raved about it 2 months ago and I’m glad I waited to see if I really wanted it. It turns out, I don’t! Hurrah!
